Paediatric Osteopathy
Osteopathy in paediatrics look after the wellbeing of newborns and children.
During childbirth, a baby experiences significant pressure on its head as it travels through the mother’s pelvis. In case of a C-section, a vacuum extraction or a forceps-delivery, these also exert significant pressure on the baby’s head and his/her body. When theses stresses are not fully resolved, they can then manifest as symptoms. As a child grows, tensions may also arise due to earlier strains, as a result of trauma or as his/her body adjusts to physical and postural demands.
Osteopathy can help with symptoms such as:
Postural imbalances
Colics
Irritability
Feeding problems
Mechanical reflux
Sleeping problems
Blocked lacrymal duct
Recurrent infections
